The Killer Inside Me, directed by Michael Winterbottom (24 Hour Party People, A Mighty Heart) is an examination of one man’s descent into becoming a psychotic killer. Adapted from the novel written by Jim Thompson, Casey Affleck plays Lou Ford, a small town west Texas sheriff with a dark secret. Jessica Alba, Kate Hudson, Bill Pullman, Simon Baker, Elias Koteas, and Ned Beatty round out the supporting cast.

Casey Affleck gives the best performance of his career, with the rest of the cast all holding their own, even the usually uneven Jessica Alba. Beautifully shot and directed, the cinematography and art direction really capture the time period absorbing the viewer even more into the story. Depictions of violence, while few and far between, are extremely graphic and brutal; the movie is definitely not for the faint of heart. If you can tolerate the violence, this film is an extraordinary roller coaster ride into madness with an explosive ending. I absolutely loved every minute of this film, and I hope you do too.
The Killer Inside Me is rated R and opens in the screening room on Friday, September 17th. Presented in HD.
