Do you really missing the Harry Potter universe and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is way too far away for you? Well I have some awesome news for you, we will be screening Mudbloods: The Movie on October 23rd at 7pm! As you may know mudblood is a slang term, not really the nicest of terms, that refers to a human born witch/wizard and they have no closely related magical gene. This documentary is about how people have turned an imaginary game, Quidditch, into a real life sport! You follow the underdogs of the UCLA Quidditch team to the 5th Quidditch World Cup.
Quidditch was the sport they played in the series where they flew around an arena on broomsticks and tried to score as many points as possible. There are 3 balls, two bludgers and one quaffle. The chasers use the quaffle to shot through one of the 3 hoops to get 10 points per goal. The keeper is the goalie of these three hoops. There are beaters who use the bludgers to hit the opposing team in hopes of either knocking the quaffle out of their possession or just off their broom. Then there is the seeker. The seeker tries to find the snitch which results in end the match and giving their team 150 points. The team with the most points at the end of the match wins! Yes, people were able to make this into a real life sport and it looks fairly brutal.
