Tickets now on sale for our Thursday, July 31st 8:00 PM premiere! Tickets can be purchased here.

When Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy flies into theaters on August 1st, it will be Marvel Studios and Disneys biggest gamble yet. Guardians of the Galaxy is the 10th film from Marvel Studios, a once independent production company spawned from Marvel Comics. Unlike its predecessors (Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, The Avengers, Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier) though, Guardians of the Galaxy is set to introduce audiences to a whole new side of the “Marvel Cinematic Universe” – the cosmic side. Drawing from decades worth of Marvel Comics’ rich and diverse outer space stories, Guardians of the Galaxy will showcase what’s going on on the other side of the universe while Iron Man and friends are doing their thing down on Earth. Until the Guardians eventually make their way to Earth and they cross paths, of course.

Check out this quick scene from the movie followed by an exclusive trailer. (no spoilers, I swear)

Written and directed by James Gunn (Slither, Super), Guardians of the Galaxy is sure to be Marvel’s next massive franchise, proving once again that if there’s good source material to draw from, Marvel can (and will) make a successful movie (or franchise) out of it. Starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Lee Pace, Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker, Djimon Hounsou, Benicio del Toro, Glenn Close, John C. Reilly, with the voices of Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, and Josh Brolin, this will be the “must see” movie of the summer.

While there is an embargo on full reviews until July 24th, many critics and movie bloggers, including writers for Variety, SlashFilm, Badass Digest, and Collider have taken to twitter to express their (very brief) thoughts, and its near unanimously positive. Check it out:
