Recent college graduate and former CinemaSalem team member, Mildred Aroko, nominated CinemaSalem for the Ice Bucket Challenge! The challenge is a social media fundraising campaign designed to raise awareness about the disease ALS (Lou Gerhrig’s disease). According to the ALS website, the Ice Bucket Challenge has been a success so far, so lets keep the momentum going. Thursday, August 14th, the managers of CinemaSalem completed the challenge. Click to see the video!

Now we nominate all of you–our patrons and fellow Salem businesses. Here are your options: Either dump a bucket of ice water over your head and donate at least $20 at, or, donate $100 or more and forget about the bucket of ice. When you are done, nominate 3 people via Facebook to complete the challenge. To sweeten the deal a little bit, if you choose to participate, make your donation and bring a copy of your receipt to CinemaSalem (either printed out or on your phone) between now and August 31st. If you donated at least $20, you’ll get a free small popcorn. If you donated at least $100, you’ll get a small combo (small popcorn + small fountain soda) and one free movie pass.
